FRP building products and composite fasteners help mitigate the effects of El Nino!

On July 4, 2023, the World Meteorological Organization announced the formation of El Nino conditions in the tropical Pacific Ocean for the first time in seven years, and the organization's Secretary-General, Petrie Taras, pointed out that the appearance of El Nino will greatly increase the possibility of temperature records being broken, which may cause extreme heat in many parts of the world.


El Nino is a tropical ocean anomaly characterized by significant warming in the eastern and central equatorial Pacific Ocean. El Nino usually causes a variety of abnormal changes such as high temperature, drought and fire, heavy rainfall, and high incidence of super typhoons. For example, the number of storms and typhoons in the Pacific region usually increases, and these storms and typhoons may cause floods, landslides and other disasters, thus posing a threat to people's life and property safety, and bringing a huge impact on human life, production and business activities. Among these climate anomalies, the most prominent impact is the emergence and continuous spread of global hot weather.

The latest report released by the World Meteorological Organization pointed out that extreme high temperatures continue to affect the world, the global average temperature in June set a record high record, and the record high temperature weather continues to appear in July, the temperature in many parts of Europe has exceeded 40 degrees Celsius, Asia and North America are also receiving extreme high temperature "baking" test.


The National Weather Service said that on July 18, more than 20 cities, counties or regions in the United States had tied or broken daily high temperature records, and it began to extend to the central and eastern United States. At the same time, many European countries, including Italy and Spain, have issued red alerts for high temperatures. Meteo France is forecasting temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius in parts of southeastern France this summer. The felt temperature in many parts of Thailand reached a staggering 54 degrees Celsius. According to the monitoring data of the National Meteorological Center, since June this year (as of June 22), the daily maximum temperature of 183 national meteorological stations in the country has exceeded the monthly extreme value, and the temperature detected by 46 meteorological stations has exceeded the historical extreme value, and the number of hot days in North China has reached 6.4 days, 3.1 days more than the same period in previous years.

6. Low Moisture Absorption: unlike many plastics, the moisture absorption of FRP products is very low, even if it is soaked in water for a long time, there will be no obvious size change or mechanical property loss.
